Good to Know

If the heat exchanger is cracked or the unit is past 10-12 years, replacement usually wins on math alone. For igniters, sensors, boards, and gas valves on younger units, repair is the smart money.

Bigger than the same pool would need down south — our springs and falls are cold. As a rough guide, most Lake Country in-ground pools land between 200k and 400k BTU. We size it properly from your pool volume and how you use it.

Most often a flow problem — dirty filter, low water level, or a failing pressure switch — rather than the heater itself. It is also the cheapest category of fix, so do not assume the worst.
